As many of you know, I am a vegetarian.  I am not a total vegan, but I do not eat red meat, chicken, pork or lamb.  After reading the book Fit For Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond I decided to change my life and my health for the better.  I learned that it can take as long as three months for meat to digest in your intestines after reading Fit For Life, and while I sometimes long for the taste of a good hamburger or a juicy steak, I know that I am healthier now that I no longer eat meat.  I do eat seafood, cheese and eggs though!

Another important issue in my life is how we treat the environment.  I believe that we are losing far too many of the trees in our environment.  I am proud of my efforts to save as many trees as possible here in the Upstate, even though there is so much construction going on and there are so many trees being devastated by new development.

In addition to the trees, I support the preservation of the historic downtown Greenville.  I think we have a beautiful city and I am involved in efforts to keep the downtown scenery the same as it was in the 1800's.  I think it is just amazing that you can still walk down sections of Main Street and it is just how it was over one hundred years ago and I support any efforts to keep it that way.
